Announcing Our New Spring Harvest Festival!

Green seedlings sprouting from soil

For our next city-wide food festival, we’re changing things up—there won’t be an autumn Food Harvest Festival this year, but instead we’ll be hosting a Spring Growing Festival in 2020!

Why the change?

In Cork City, we’ve noticed there are an impressive number of food-growing initiatives popping up all around. By holding our festival in the spring, we’ll be able to explore and celebrate these initiatives as they’re starting to sprout and come to life.

You’ll be able to learn about the growing projects that exist throughout the city, and how you can take part in them, just before the growing season kicks into full swing.

A new city

Cork City has expanded since our last Harvest Festival. The new Spring Growing Festival will give us the opportunity to welcome the new boundary areas of Ballincollig, Blarney, Douglas, and Glanmire. We look forward to integrating these parts of the city as active participants and venues for events during our Spring Growing Festival.

What will stay the same

Just like our Harvest festival of the past few years, the Spring Growing Festival will be a two-day event with a variety of activities taking place throughout the entire city. The festival’s showcase event will be a family day in a city centre park where everyone is invited to gather to enjoy food-focused stands and learn about ways to start growing.

A big thank you

We want to say thank you to everyone who has attended and supported the Food Harvest Festival over the past three years. They wouldn’t have been a success without you. And because it wouldn’t be the same without you, we hope each of you will join us to celebrate our first Spring Growing Festival in 2020.

We want to hear your ideas! What events, activities, and talks would you like to see in next year’s Spring Growing Festival?
